AUNG KO アウン・コ/AUNG KO
Born in 1980 in Htonebo, Myanmar. Lives and works in Yangon. After having studied Fine Art Painting at theUniversity of Culture, Yangon in 2002, he began his career as a full time artist. Much of hiswork is based upon his childhood memories and experiences of hi s rural hometown. Heparticipated in the Sigapore Biennale 2008 (in collaboration wi th Chaw Ei Thein and Rich Streitmatter Tran), The 4th Fukuoka Asian Art Triennale 2009 an d various other group exhibitioins both locally and internationally. It is his second residency program at 3331 after his first stay in 2012.

Residence Plan
Ko is revisiting the people who he met in his residency in 2012 and further developing the network with the local community. Through drawing portraits of the people, he aims to bring a deeper understanding between Myanmar and Japan.
